Ronaldo's Hat-Trick Propels Manchester United to Fourth Place
Tottenham Hotspur Seeking League Double over Red Devils
Manchester United 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Cristiano Ronaldo produced a scintillating hat-trick, propelling Manchester United to a 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The triumph elevates United to fourth place in the Premier League standings, while Ronaldo surpasses the record for most goals scored in FIFA's all-time history.
Tottenham, meanwhile, were aiming to complete their first league double over United since the 1989-90 season. However, Ronaldo's brilliance proved too much to overcome.
Manchester United opened the scoring in the 38th minute when Nemanja Matic threaded a pass down the left for Ronaldo, who fired the ball home with aplomb.
Tottenham equalized shortly after halftime, thanks to Son Heung-min's goal. Harry Kane then gave the visitors the lead in the 57th minute.
But Ronaldo had the last laugh, scoring twice in quick succession to secure the victory for Manchester United. His third goal, a stunning free kick, proved to be the match-winner.
