Red Sox Outfielder Jarren Duran To Miss Rest of The Season
Surgery Scheduled for Wednesday in Charlotte
Toe Injury Requires Season Ending Surgery
BOSTON -- Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran will undergo season-ending surgery on his left big toe Wednesday in Charlotte, the team announced Monday. Duran had surgery on his left big toe Aug. 30 to repair a flexor tendon he injured trying to climb a wall in New York on Aug. 27. Red Sox manager Alex Cora had further details on the injury to outfielder Jarren Duran and they weren't promising.
The Red Sox put Duran on the 10-day injured list because of a toe injury and recalled fellow outfielder.
Duran gave the Red Sox quite the injury scare in Saturday's loss to the Texas Rangers. As the Red Sox fight to remain in the hunt for a playoff spot, they'll have to do so without their center fielder.
